A [not-quite] engagement session!
12.13.2009Engagement Fashion

I’m the funniest person in the world.

No, really…. I am. At least according to my girl, Lacey. She came out to Disney yesterday with Chris to model for a “couples fashion not-quite-engagement session” (did you catch all that?) that I hosted. Who says you have to be engaged to have a good time and look great for a few photographers?

I really want to talk about the workshop, about how cool Khristen, Mariana and Khaled were, about how much fun we had and about how awesome Lacey and Chris were to work with – but I’ll leave that for another day! Tonight, I just really want to post a few of the amazing images I grabbed yesterday and let everyone see what they missed out on ;)

This special Disney workshop session may become an annual holiday event, complete with a night out at The Boardwalk! I can’t wait to post all about it!

Come have fun with me, and learn lots! To schedule your own Photographer’s workshop session, email me at kristen@kristenweaver.com.

Celebration, FL Engagement Session

This will absolutely be the longest sneak peek in existence on my blog. I’m so excited to show off these shots from my engagement session today with Lindsey and Jason, my newest bride and groom, who are getting married next October over at the amazing Longboat Key Club. The day started off a little shaky, with a huge band of storms to cross Central Florida – the first day of storms in month! Lindsey and Jason flew in this week from Orange County, CA, and I refused to delay this shoot! Come rain or shine – we would make this session work! And work, it did!

Lindsey was referred to me by one of my good friends, Justin – who will be the Man of Honor at their wedding! This will now be my second Man of Honor wedding! I LOVE it! Justin’s an awesome pick and was already flexing his MOH muscles at the shoot today!

We stopped for some pre-session lunch at Sieto (best sushi!), and wouldn’t you know that the rain let up right as we paid our checks. Luckily enough, it started raining again right as we wrapped up at Kilwin’s for some delicious ice cream. Our session was the perfect blend of overcast skies, cool(ish) weather, and one of the sexiest couples I know!

Lindsey and Jason – I had such an awesome time hanging out with you today, and I can’t wait until your wedding! Hope you enjoy this “Uber-Sneak-Peek”!

Historic Love, West Palm Beach Style
11.23.2009Engagement

I was particularly looking forward to this past weekend for a few reasons. First, it was the engagement session of Nicole and Nick – one of my most eclectic and down to earth couples! Secondly, it was Anthony’s birthday weekend, and even though I had to work on his birthday, I made up for it with a romantic weekend getaway, complete with Melting Pot dinner reservations, champagne and a surprise photoshoot! I’ll have more about all of the awesome fun and cool surprises I had for him in another post – but I wanted to get up some of my favorite shots from our engagement session with Nicole and Nick!

Nicole and Nick were such fabulous hosts! We decided to start over at this adorable part of West Palm Beach by Sloan’s Ice Cream and the pier. The weather was unseasonably hot – then again, what is normal weather in Florida around Thanksgiving? We had a little lunch break for some yummy salads and the Ohio State game (or, if you ask Anthony, the Michigan game) and then went back to Nicole and Nick’s house – their little slice of historic heaven in WPB.

Their home is a 1920’s bungalow – part of the Historic District of West Palm. It’s beautiful, rustic and has a great history – Nicole and Nick actually met while she was living next door! They bonded over a love for DIY projects and vintage taste.

Full post coming soon – but for now, a quick sneak peak!

I am so in love with this shot of Nicole.

St. Augustine Engagement
11.17.2009Engagement

I love engagement sessions, especially when they involve exploring a new place! Not that St. Augustine is new, in fact, it’s quite old! But I’ve only been there once, my sophomore year of college, for one day – to visit a friend who was going to Flagler. So for all intents and purposes… it’s new.

Jenn and Mitch are getting married next year, and I was really looking forward to spending some extra time getting to know them… feeding the fish and avoiding random cats… in St. Augustine!

I couldn’t wait to get this session edited, because it’s really one of my favorite engagement sessions that I’ve done! We had so much fun, and that makes it a more personal session for me when I bond with my clients.

I’m going to limit my typing and/or storytelling for tonight, since I’m somewhere around hour 13 on the computer today; who know’s what jibberish will start coming out :) So I’ll leave you with the engagement session of Jenn and Mitch!

Jenn & Mitch | St. Augustine Engagement
11.14.2009Engagement

Have you ever met someone and knew from that minute that you’d be friends? That was kind of what happened when I met Jenn and Mitch this summer to talk about their wedding! They hadn’t hired me yet, but I believe we sat in a Daytona Beach Panera for close to 2 hours just talking about everything! I was totally psyched to hear they were hiring me the next day! Not only are they fun and totally awesome, but their wedding will be absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to see them on their special day!

And speaking of special days – they’re getting married on one of the biggest wedding days next year, October 9, 2010, down at the Royal Crest Room. I think I’ve had about 3 more emails for that date since they hired me!

We had such an awesome day exploring the nooks and crannies of beautiful St. Augustine (special thanks to Melanie from La Dolce Vita Studio for giving me a great starting point there!). We snuck down a few side streets, got chased by a few random cats, and had lunch at the Santa Maria Restaurant where we could feed the fish right from a little port-hole at our table! My personal highlight of the day was exploring the little antique mall and getting some gorgeous shots there. Oh, how I heart St. Augustine!

I loved it so much, I serenaded Anthony to Garth Brooks the entire 2 hour drive home (after a quick stop at Chick-Fil-A for some sweet tea, of course).

I have a ton of great photos I’m working on for the full post – but wanted to get a few teasers up before Anthony and I head out to Shogun for dinner!
