Susan wins for best post-wedding Thank You gift ever, because on Friday, I received a box of 17 amazing pints of the most gloriously awesome ice cream ever! Flavors like Wildberry Lavender, Lemon and Blueberry, and The Buckeye State… it’s like Ohio showed up on my doorstep. Now, I have Susan to thank for the 15 extra pounds I’ll surely gain this month.

(Note: eating Brambleberry Crisp while I post… carry on)

Susan and Mike had a chance meeting while Susan was in medical school at NEOMED in Akron, Ohio. Their proposal story is super cute – Mike actually said he couldn’t make a ceremony where Susan found out her residency.

But as she stood on-stage and found out where she’d be spending the next year, Mike appeared next to her and asked her if she’d spend the rest of her life with him. In a full-circle kind of moment, they decided to have their reception in the very room that he proposed, on NEOMED’s campus.

Not to be outdone by a sweet story, their ceremony had it’s own “wow” factor – in one of the most beautiful Catholic churches that I’ve had the privilege of shooting in.

St. Bernard’s church in Akron is beyond incredible. Every detail is richly ornate and I hope that I captured the beauty of the architecture as much as I was enamored by it.

This church was ridiculously gorgeous.

After the ceremony, we stopped at Angel Falls Coffee Co., where Susan and Mike had their first date!

Susan and Mike’s reception at NEOMED was the perfect ending to their perfect day!
The ballroom for the event was the very ballroom where Mike proposed to Susan in front of over a hundred people!

Guests signed Jenga pieces for Susan and Mike! Such a cute idea!

I love a catering staff that isn’t afraid to do a little Cupid Shuffle!
