I met Stephanie and Jim in a little coffee shop in Oviedo for the first time. It was sort of like instant friends, you know when you just keep chatting and get really excited to hear all about their plans? But first, I wanted to know all about them! And what an adorable story they have! Stephanie was only 14 when she had a bit of a crush on Jim, a senior football player from her high school. She officially “met” him sitting in a chiropractor’s office where Jim was visiting for a football injury – and Stephanie was there because her school bus was hit by a car (that’s still one of the most random things I’ve heard in awhile! And as Stephanie claims “that could only happen to me!”) Anyhow, they casually dated with the typical note passing-high-school-dating thing, and then went their separate ways once Jim went to college.

Life took a series of twists while Jim played football for LSU (and was on their national championship team!) and then entered the Secret Service. Stephanie went to school and has a successful career in the medical field. Time and distance finally worked themselves out when they reconnected on Facebook. Cue their proposal, when Jim popped the question on this birthday, over breakfast in bed!

Stephanie and Jim chose a vintage elegance theme for their wedding; reminiscent of old hollywood with lots of sparkle and mixed metallics, gorgeous bouquets and the most adorable flower girl ever! But the best part? Seriously… only I would love this so much…. is that they had 4 wedding cakes. FOUR. Enough cake for about 250 people – which came out to about 4 pieces per person. Stephanie says Jim has a sweet tooth for great cake – but I’d say all the guests were extremely appreciative of the crazy-awesome assortment! They chose flavors from The Sugar Suite like Chocolate and Salted Caramel, Amaretto with Raspberry Buttercream, Lemon Meringue and Jim’s Banana Cake! Are you hungry yet?!

I can’t wait to see Jim and Steph again for a gorgeous secret shoot we have planned coming up!  In the meantime, share in their amazing wedding with me by commenting below!

Jim’s best friend, Sal, was killed in action during their service together in Afghanistan, so he honored Sal’s mother by sharing his Mother/Son dance with her.
It was one of the sweetest moments of the evening, and such a touching sentiment for everyone there.
