Katy and Jeff met on a Southwest flight while both were visiting Columbus, OH! On the way back to Orlando, Jeff chose a seat right next to Katy and as fate would have it, they spent the next 2 hours chatting :) I loved how every element of their wedding was special to them… including the date! Jeff proposed over Veteran’s Day weekend (on 11/11/11) while on vacation in Georgia… so they decided to get married one year later – on Veteran’s Day! They also paid tribute to some close family members who were war heroes. Down the their menus, which were folded like paper airplanes, and a poster sent to them from Southwest – they celebrated their relationship with this sweet purple air-theme!

I especially loved getting to work with the girls from An Affair to Remember! Every second of the day was flawless, and I have them to thank for that! Since Kristen Johnson was a bridesmaid, we got some pretty embarrassing shots of her at the reception ;)

To see some more details about the process of planning her wedding (and some of their cute airplane engagement shoot pictures), check out Katy’s interview on the AATR blog! http://www.anaffairtoremember.net/blog/destined-aatr-couple-katy-jeff

One of the most-shared, most-liked photos on my Facebook page was this one. Katy and Jeff were married on Veteran’s Day… and celebrated the life of Katy’s Grandfather who served in WWII. This flag has been with their family for over 50 years after draping on his coffin. So with all our hearts, we thank those who lost their lives so we could live ours โ™ฅ

And now, on to some amazing details! I loved Katy’s vintage Rolex that was her “something borrowed”!

Also getting a lot of recognition on FB was Katy’s “First Look” with her dad and brother. Her brother’s reaction was priceless… but you really had to be there to appreciate it in all of it’s brotherly glory! ;)

Sometimes we don’t ask questions…. we just take pictures :)

Legit best part of the ceremony was getting to stand in the aisle and smelling the amazing scent of fresh lavender that they laid next to the chairs.

Everyone lays claim on baby Madison… but she’s my baby. Love this little girl :)

Again… I don’t ask questions…

The reception space was so pretty! Everything was draped with custom linens from Over the Top, and hand-made wooden boxes to hold an arrangement of fresh flowers and moss made an amazing centerpiece. But I loved the table “numbers” – which were actually frames with postcards of all the places Katy and Jeff have traveled!
