But our brilliant plan was foiled by the arrival of the Top Chef tour, and Matt’s perfect timing, remembering that the Beer Garden doesn’t open until noon.

Either way, we still had a fantastic shoot and I loved spending the morning with them touring around Thornton Park and the Farmer’s Market! I can’t wait until their wedding in October I have a feeling it’s going to be a fun one!

We actually shot their session around the church where they’ll be married. It’s a gorgeous property with a lot of big shady trees and it’s so versatile. I’m really looking forward to shooting their wedding in August because there are just so many options. I mean, we even took pictures in the same place we parked our cars because the wall was covered in vines! And we had to make sure to get pictures in front of the gray house because it’s Caitlin’s favorite.

And I just have to share their “Tommy Pickle feet” picture. Tommy Pickle, from the show Rugrats? Well…he stands with his toes turned in. Like this

I was so excited to see how all of Alex’s plans had come together for her April wedding because I knew she had been working hard to make everything perfect, while building my anticipation for all of her creative details. And she did not disappoint! Everything came together beautifully, from an outdoor ceremony under an amazingly gorgeous “wedding tree” all the way down to a cute little cake topper made by Chris’s mom! The day was complete with a sweet candy bar, cupcakes (yes, cake AND cupcakes!), and even wooden forks to enjoy dinner catered by Cracker Barrel.

You really couldn’t find a more fun-loving couple than Alex and Chris – I mean…they did get married on April Fools’ Day So we put together a cute little “Goof Booth” for their guests to enjoy! Alex supplied all of the super cute props and it was definitely a hit that evening! And now we present….. the Goof Booth!!!

Michelle and Ryan have always had a special connection with New Year’s Eve, so I wasn’t terribly surprised when Michelle announced that they were choosing this epic party holiday for their amazing Lakeland wedding!

I’ve known Michelle since my days working in Lakeland at the New York Times paper there. After we met, we realized we actually went to college together, graduated the same year and in the same major! For such a small, private school, it was amazing we had never crossed paths! We became fast friends and shared almost every day after work walking around the apartment complex where we both lived. It was so great getting to know Michelle! She even introduced me to Spin class (where we also went). But my favorite memory was the time she convinced me to try a 5:30am Yoga class. I’m notoriously NOT a morning person, and the warm room, low lights and soft music made both of us fall asleep in the back of the class. So much for any Downward Dog progress. That was my first, and last, yoga class. Ever.

When Michelle told me about the cute, “younger”, guy she had met at her second job, I was super excited for her! Ryan is such a great guy for her, and although I don’t know him nearly as well as I know Michelle, I know he’s gotta have a heart of gold to live with this self-proclaimed princess

Michelle and Ryan tied the knot in a late-evening Catholic ceremony surrounded by their family and friends, and let the party kick in to gear at their high-energy reception. When the clock struck midnight, the entire party celebrated with a ceiling balloon drop, lots of champagne and lots of kissing! But the best part (well, for me!) was the post-midnight buffet of chocolate donuts, chicken biscuits and milk shots!

It was so great spending the holiday with Michelle, Ryan and their amazing family! I loved being a part of their wedding and taking this journey with them
