Although there’s a pretty solid argument for this shot of Tiffany alone (minus the confusing hairy arm. I guess I’m the only one digging the confusion :)

Terry and Beth | Jacksonville, FL
12.06.2009Weddings

“They have ‘The Notebook’ kind of love.”

That was the line of Nicole’s toast that stuck out to me the most. Not having known Beth Miller and Terry Hockenberry for very long, I could tell from every second I spent with them that their love was passionate, emotional and deep. Nicole, Beth’s daughter and a close friend of mine, gave a beautiful speech, welcoming Terry in to their lives and thanking him for showing them the beautiful and joyous person their mother had become. It was such an honor to be a part of their wedding in Jacksonville last night and to witness the amazing support of their family and friends.

For this simple and quaint wedding, the room was so full of love – it was felt every second from a passing glance, soft touch and quiet embrace.

I can’t thank them enough for opening my eyes to the kind of love we all hope for in our lives. They are an amazing couple, with an amazing family, and I wish them long years of happiness and passion.

Her dress was so… her. It was a gorgeous Oleg Cassini.

Nicole did all the girls’ hair – they all looked amazing!

The shot on the bottom right is through the window of the dressing room taken by Reema. I grabbed the shot on the left.

Beth and Terry had a “First Look”, which is one of my favorite things to do!
Reema captured Beth’s reaction, while I had the privilege of seeing Terry’s first look at his beautiful bride.

LOVE this shot of her! She was an amazing bride!

Beth’s son, Mat, walked her down the aisle. He looked terrified until he got her to Terry. Then he just grinned.  It was seriously so cute.

Terry can give a first kiss! All the other groom-to-be’s should take note :)

This is my favorite shot. After they walked out of the ceremony, Reema captured their embrace on the left
and I happened to catch the same one through the window on the right.
It’s just that moment that made my heart melt – and brought tears to my eyes tonight. The quiet moments – they’re the most profound.

Um, ok – so kind of a joke – but I adore Mat and Nicole, here with their significant others in an old school prom pose. Pilly (in pink) and Leon were great sports for this one :)

Gift Certificate Sale!
11.30.2009Life

Since this is my 100th blog post, I felt it was only fitting to have a sale! And what better timing, then the Holidays!?

Lucky you!

For one week only, for every gift certificate you buy to Kristen Weaver Photography, I’ll add an additional $50 to the certificate amount (min. $50 purchase).

This is perfect if you have any friends or family that have an upcoming session, or already had a session (even if you just want one for yourself! It’s the holidays – treat yourself)! Use the certificate on products, prints, sessions, wedding deposits or balances – it works just like cash over here!

Since I love examples, let me demonstrate.

Your BFF just booked a sultry Boudoir session with me. You, being the coolest friend she has, spends $50 on a gift certificate to KWP as her fantastical Christmas present. I add on another $50 (because you’re the coolest, remember?) and you get to give her $100 that she can use towards a Sexy Little Album, prints, the balance of her session fee – whatever her little heart desires! You, my dear, are now a Rockstar!

Email me to order one, or if you’d like some more details! Gift Certificate must be ordered between today and Friday, Dec. 4, 2009. I only have a limited quantity available, so get yours now!

Lunatic Fringe Salon
11.30.2009Fashion

Awesomesauce has become my new favorite word. It’s likely that I heard it somewhere, but I can’t seem to stop saying it. Today was another awesomesauce shoot with the girls at Lunatic Fringe Salon in Altamonte Springs. They’re a Paul Mitchell salon, and one of my favorite hair geniuses, Luisa V, asked me to come by and get some beauty shots for their salon signs. The girls were great to work with, and I thought I’d throw up some quick shots from the morning, even though they’re not really edited yet. I can’t wait to show off the rest of their awesome work!

For all those photographers out there, these were shot with some killer window light, 200 iso, 50mm 1.4 on my Nikon D700. Softbox bouncing off a white wall for some soft fill light.

  • Kristen Weaver: Really? I’ll have to take your word for it. I’ve never seen Twilight, but her eyes were gorgeous! :)
  • Becka @Studio222: That last girl has twilight vampire eyes ;)
Come rain or shine

Celebration, FL Engagement Session

This will absolutely be the longest sneak peek in existence on my blog. I’m so excited to show off these shots from my engagement session today with Lindsey and Jason, my newest bride and groom, who are getting married next October over at the amazing Longboat Key Club. The day started off a little shaky, with a huge band of storms to cross Central Florida – the first day of storms in month! Lindsey and Jason flew in this week from Orange County, CA, and I refused to delay this shoot! Come rain or shine – we would make this session work! And work, it did!

Lindsey was referred to me by one of my good friends, Justin – who will be the Man of Honor at their wedding! This will now be my second Man of Honor wedding! I LOVE it! Justin’s an awesome pick and was already flexing his MOH muscles at the shoot today!

We stopped for some pre-session lunch at Sieto (best sushi!), and wouldn’t you know that the rain let up right as we paid our checks. Luckily enough, it started raining again right as we wrapped up at Kilwin’s for some delicious ice cream. Our session was the perfect blend of overcast skies, cool(ish) weather, and one of the sexiest couples I know!

Lindsey and Jason – I had such an awesome time hanging out with you today, and I can’t wait until your wedding! Hope you enjoy this “Uber-Sneak-Peek”!
