I think it’s always the most difficult to write blog posts about your friends.

I met Nicole years ago, when I first started photography in Orlando.

She emailed me asking if I needed a hair stylist for a big beach shoot I was planning St. Augustine. Since I had never worked with a team for a shoot before, I was more than happy to let Nicole come and work her magic. I was so impressed with her mad styling skills and her energy – we became fast friends! Pretty soon, we were the dynamic team (Nicole, Katie and I). Katie moved out to Nashville and Nicole went on to become a Senior National Paul Mitchell educator, traveling the country and instructing new PM students.

She’s also the genius behind my big hair (and all the cute hair-shots I try to post on my FB profile!).

Anytime I’m in Jacksonville, I make it a point to see my little Nicole Beth. So when I heard that her and her boyfriend, Leon, got engaged, I was really excited about shooting their engagement session! And of course, we had to start in the amazing Oscar and Lula’s Salon, where Nicole works.

And a huge thanks to the amazing Gemma B Makeup for making Nicole look so fierce! Between Nicole and Gemma – this is the “IT” team in hair and makeup! So excited to work with both of them!

I can’t wait for their wedding! We’re cruising to Mexico for their 2013 nuptials!

I love this chandelier hanging in the entryway of the salon. It was custom made by the owners at Oscar and Lula’s!

Nicole is the world’s best iphoneographer. I happened to sneak this shot of her getting a picture of her makeup :)

Her drink of choice is Disaronno on the rocks. So of course we needed to include it!

So this picture was kind of a joke… but she looks so pretty! Her mom (whose wedding I shot in 2009) asked me for a picture of Nicole holding a flower :)

My favorite part of the day was shooting by the river in Jacksonville!

And who wouldn’t want to end a shoot by jumping in a fountain outside a busy bank in downtown Jacksonville? We did! (quickly…)
