roving reporter

marketing consulting photographyThis morning, I had the fantastic opportunity to sit in on one of Meredith Oliver’s fabulous seminars about social media! I wrote a play-by-play for anyone who missed it, but still wanted some of her awesome advice. The seminars are fantastically fun, I got to network with lots of great people (from all kinds of industries – including our own Orlando DJ – Marc Burgess!), and there’s free food. Seriously – what else is there? Many of you don’t know that I’m an independent Social Media consultant and freelancer…  but Meredith let the cat out of the bag at this morning’s event. See? Had you all fooled…. ;)

WOAMTEC is sponsoring her 3-part boot camp (last week was Facebook, this week was LinkedIn, and next week is YouTube!) and it’s great for all user levels. I consider myself pretty advanced at LinkedIn, but I still learned lots of great tricks, and it was just fun being able to brainstorm and talk with other professionals about how social media works for them.

If you ever have the opportunity to attend one of Meredith’s seminars, I highly recommend it. You’ll learn, laugh and hear all about Molly Oliver (Meredith’s Facebooking Dog)!

“I can’t tell you the last time I was actually awake at 6am…. but this morning I woke up bright and early to get ready for Meredith Oliver’s new seminar as part of the WOAMTEC Social Media Bootcamp! Today’s session is on LinkedIn, and I’m looking forward to learning more about this powerful business networking tool.

My drive across town was an eclectic mix of old school Janet Jackson (Miss Jackson, if you’re nasty), The Ting Tings and Iron Maiden. Fashionably arriving about 40 minutes early (in true Kristen Weaver style), grabbed a blueberry bagel (from Via Panera), a banana and some orange juice – I’m set up, logged in and ready to learn about LinkedIn!”
