Caity

Caity has the best boyfriend ever!

I got a call from Brant a couple months ago, while sitting in my “virtual office” – the Tire Kingdom waiting room. He was looking for an awesome Christmas present for his girlfriend, Caity. I vaguely remember going over the details of what a fashion portrait session entails while random men pretended not to listen to my call. Quite frankly, I can’t think of anything more awesome than spending a day with me and Jillian, so I was super excited to get an email from Caity about her new present!

One of the cutest parts of the day was when I excitedly beckoned for Brant to show him one of the captures from the back of my camera, and squeeled, “Doesn’t she look beautiful!” Brant took a second and looked at the image, then said, “I always think she looks beautiful.” (I’m sure one of Brant’s baseball buddies will punch him for that one…)

Oh, to be 17 again!

I LOVE shooting these senior-fashion sessions, because it’s like playing “Model for a Day” with my clients! Not that it’s a stretch for Caity, the senior volleyball player, who stands taller than me barefoot (I’m 5′9″). So you’d think I’d be all over the long shots, right? Nope! This girl has the most amazing skin and gorgeous green eyes – I took every chance I got to shoot nice and close.

Can you believe this is only Caity’s teaser? I still have a ton of photos to dish out! So sit tight and hang out on my blog for a bit. Don’t forget to leave a little comment to let Caity know how awesome her boyfriend is (as if she already didn’t!)

And Brant – thank you so much for bringing Caity to me! You were an awesome fan-holding-paper-moving-location-finding-clothes-carrying-boyfriend-assistant, who ended up sitting through hours of gossip about Jimmy Choo and wedding gowns. I hope you guys love the photos as much as I loved working with you! (Oh, and PS, Brant, don’t ever call me ma’am again! haha)

Jillian Caro did hair and makeup for both of Caity’s looks today!

Brant gets a shiny gold star for finding this door (even though it turned out to be a REALLY smelly outdoor bathroom)

I figured I’d make Brant get at least one shot with Caity, since they were all the way out here!  He obliged, but I’m not sure how happy he was about it!

We finished up right as the sun was going down. Just enough time to grab one last shot by street light.

Taylor and Leeann | Orlando Senior Photography

I have gotten so far behind on editing! I can’t believe how much time it takes starting your own business. Ok, maybe I can. But I’m official now! Kristen Weaver Photography, LLC. is now alive and well :) How very exciting for me!

This week is also the week I should be getting my new camera. This was the first session I shot with my old camera after getting it repaired from Nikon. But alas, it was a fleeting moment – the next day at my Images for a Cure session, it broke once again – and I’ve been resolved to finally upgrading to the gorgeous and amazing D700. I’m thrilled about the upgrade – I have been using the camera while mine was away at Nikon getting fixed (the first time) and you may have seen it’s work on such shoots as Hollie and Lance, Ashley’s Senior Session, Fischetti Family and Isabella. I’m sure I’ll post some pictures of the newest addition to my family of equipment as soon as I get it! Yay!

On to the great Senior pictures of Taylor and Leeann!

Taylor and Leeann are Seniors!

So fancy equipment does not a photographer make, but I’ll tell you what – it sure helps! After spending a month with my BFF, the Nikon D700, it had to go back to it’s home and I got my D200 back from Nikon… all fixed up. Not that I’m not happy to see my little baby back, but seeing the quality that came from the D700 – I’m sold. I’ll be purchasing one very shortly :)

Speaking of besties… meet Taylor and Leeann!

They’re Seniors at East Ridge High School, and came out for the afternoon for a senior session! We had fun watching the chickens, talking movies and sharing some quality time over lunch (er… dinner?) – and they were troopers for dealing with Oviedo’s finest (honestly, why must every man in a huge pickup truck catcall, whistle and honk when they see teenage girls? Bleh.). Oh, and can we just take a second and talk about the HEAT? No, seriously. It’s October, right (as I check my calendar)…. and we had record highs with 103 heat index. We had to take “wipe the sweat” breaks. No kidding. Yuck.

Here’s a couple teasers from today!

So much more to come! But for now, I need to get some sleep because tomorrow is Images for a Cure, and I have 4 sessions plus 2 photographers, an assistant and videographer shadowing me. Yikes!

Ashley’s Senior Session

I know Ashley, (and her mom and dad), have been patiently waiting to see her amazing senior pictures from this past Saturday’s session! I was so excited to get these edited for them – and since her mom wanted a lot of options, we did some additional vintage and modern edits for them to choose from!

I had such an awesome time with Ashley and her family, touring them around Orlando and dodging chickens and blind pigeons (see the teaser post for some more explanation of me + nature). Ashley is a senior this year at George Jenkins high school in Lakeland, FL.

My fall is filling up really quick with weekend sessions! So if you’re wanting a senior session, make sure you book asap! I’ll be starting to take 2011 seniors soon!

Ashley thought I was really funny. I’m not sure why…. just my overall awesomeness I suppose :)

The shot on the left is right before I got hit by the blind pigeon that flew in to my head. Love downtown Orlando :)

I was in love with Ashley’s dress and the grass. The colors were perfect!

The sun was just above the horizon, and the light was gorgeous for this shot.

She changed back in to her black tank for a couple more casual shots by the saloon.

This really is one of my favorite shots of the day – and it was our last one! We called it a wrap around 7pm!

  • Dixie: These are phenomenal, as always. I really wish I knew you back when I was in high school so you could’ve done my Senior portraits. You rock my world and I miss you.
Ashley | Orlando Senior Photography

I met Ashley years ago when I still lived in Lakeland. Her mom was actually looking for some photos of her older sister, Morgan. Ashley must have been a freshman in high school back then? Wow, where did the years go? I’ve grown a lot since then, and so has Ashley! Literally… she got taller.

Ashley is a senior at George Jenkins High School in Lakeland, so I was so happy that she decided to come up to Orlando to let me do her senior pictures! They’re definitely going to be different from all her friends’ :)

She braved the crazy growling Oviedo chickens, heat, sun and flocks of pigeons (one actually flew right in to my head… that was enough nature for me for the day!). Her parents willingly loaded me up with Coca Cola all day (thanks for that, by the way!) and we had a ton of fun touring Orlando (Oviedo, Lake Eola, and Church Street)!

I started to do a rough edit and found 48 absolutely amazing, must-have photos. Uh-oh. Editing is going to be so much fun! For right now, I promised to get a couple teasers up for her to show Morgan (she’s on her way up to Tallahassee right now to visit her -Morgan just started her freshman year at FSU).

By the way… are you kidding with this girl’s eyes? Shut up.
