No, I’m totally serious.

So after I spent half of their engagement session quoting this iconic movie, we decided that we needed to have a Step-Brothers and Golf date with Bill and my fiance, Anthony. So the guys can golf, and Cayla and I will sit in the golf cart with some drinks watching Step Brothers. It’s quite possibly the best double date idea ever.

And the rumor is that Bill actually thinks I’m normal(ish) – so that’s a big gold star in my book!

I loved meeting Cayla and Bill for their session, and they make me even more excited to shoot their upcoming February wedding! They’re kind of normal, too And after meeting in high school they’ve pretty much got the whole “cute couple” thing down

But you know what I love about Jeremy? The way he kisses Holly.

That might seem like an odd observation – because I think all of my couples kiss cutely. But when Jeremy kisses Holly, it’s like that Gone with the Wind kind of kiss. (sorry if you’ve been following me on my Facebook page – I just saw GWTW this week for the first time, so I’ve been making all kinds of references to it!) It’s totally swoonable (especially the last shot in this blog post. Love.)

So let’s talk about something that they might be less embarrassed about me sharing. Like this totally sweet story about their relationship!

Holly moved here from England when she was in middle school, and her and Jeremy actually lived right around the corner from each other! They started dating when Holly was only 14, and have been together ever since! Holly works in fashion, and Jeremy is sort of a jack-of-all-trades; owning his own luxury car business and most recently working on the TV show American Pickers on the History Channel. Jeremy proposed to Holly last December on Timothy Hill in St. Kitts (overlooking where the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea meet).

Ridiculously awesome, right?

I will be happily celebrating their amazing wedding with them in March at Casa Feliz, and I can’t wait to see their awesome faces again!

Only Jeremy would buy a Road King Police motorcycle. I was pretty excited to use it for their shoot though!

But even better – they adore each other, and we got to celebrate an amazing evening at Bella Collina for their wedding, complete with an all-vegetarian menu, kilted officiant honoring Jordan’s Irish roots, and lots of latin dance music! But more about their wedding in an upcoming blog post….

Let’s chat about their engagement session – which was a trip around Oviedo, aimlessly stopping at fields, driveways and parks, shooting in the middle of streets and playing with mid-afternoon light. Not a cloud in the sky on a hot October day in Central Florida. It all equals a gorgeous session, and one that I had an amazing time shooting!

While they enjoy Hawaii for their honeymoon, I thought I’d give them some pretty little photos to come home to!

A modern day, less chaotic, Brady Bunch – Cortney and CJ are celebrating their marriage with their 2 little girls, Mia and Genevieve. CJ, a professional surfer with 12 years on the World Tour met Cortney at one of his going away parties. I like to imagine he was especially smitten with her bubbly personality and radiant smile from first glance. But traveling definitely made things difficult for the two-some, who have battled through the distance to make their relationship stronger than ever.

I adored shooting their session and am especially excited about their wedding – and working with some of my favorite vendors – especially the girls from An Affair to Remember, who have been helping Cortney plan the entire event.

Purely by coincidence, in August I was invited to speak to a group of photographers with the AIPP SA (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers – South Australia). I could have peed my pants I was so excited to not just get one opportunity to visit ‘down under – but TWO!?

So here I go, bags packed for the 22 hour flight over 2 days with Anthony dragging behind. I had all 10 hours of my presentation prepared and was so ready to see Adelaide with Rosie and Jackson! When we arrived, we were greeted by 2 of the sweetest people – I honestly just adored them. I’m so glad we were able to spend most of the week getting to know each other – and SO thankful for Jackson driving us around town (that whole “other side of the road” thing was really confusing!)

Anthony and I relished our time there – in between both of us being sick and me giving an entire seminar with practically no voice (thank goodness for microphones) – we had the most amazing experience! I loved our hotel and the food was sooo yummy! I had Greek garlic french fries while listening to The Phantom Menace, got to see the sights of The Barossa (wine country – where Rosie and Jackson will be getting married in January), and had the best chocolate frog ever!!

Dale and Tracy (who organized my trip to SA) were the best – and took us to eat at some really good spots (are you noticing a trend with me traveling and eating?) and they were so great giving me feedback about my seminars! I couldn’t believe I had to follow up Yervant, who had been the last speaker they brought in. Talk about pressure!

And although I was there for work (but seriously, who can call it that?), I also got to shoot a quick engagement session with Rosie and Jackson! I even got to go to their engagement party – which was an awesome surprise – and meet their friends and family.

It’s weird – even as I write this blog post, I feel like I have so much to say about our trip that I can’t even think. My head is spinning with all the sights and food and people I met! I mean, it was life-changing. I met so many amazingly talented photographers, they were just the best, most gracious hosts, and I would welcome an invitation back any time they feel like laughing at my American accent! Just sayin
