Aaron and Melanie

I first met Melanie about a year ago when she signed up for a one-on-one workshop with me! She came in from her hometown in Arkansas, where she was slowly starting her path as a career photographer! Since her husband and her frequently visit Disney, when they made plans to come down this November, she contacted me to shoot a couples session, since they never had engagement photos! It was so great catching up with her and finding out about how much her business has grown since we worked together, and she’s even opening her own studio now! I like to think it had a little bit to do with me, but Melanie was a great photographer to start, and had some amazing ideas! We just pointed her in the right direction and her hard work and persistence got her the rest of the way! I’m like a proud momma.

It was really nice seeing her and Aaron again, this time as my clients…and now they have some gorgeous pictures of their happy selves

And PS – could you just die for Melanie’s eyes? So jealous

Kristan’s Trash the Dress Session

My October 23rd, 2010 bride, Kristan, wanted to do a “trash the dress” session with horses (and no, we didn’t trash her dress… except for the random horse slobber). So I called on my November 2011 bride, Kristin, to use their amazing property for the shoot. As if it wasn’t hard enough to shoot with these big teddy bears (Ranger and Bella), having 3 Kristens on set pretty much did us in

Robby and Cathy

I can’t believe I almost missed out on working with Robby and his sweet girlfriend, Cathy! After a few attempts at shooting them for one of my one-on-one workshops, we finally got to connect when I hosted Stacy, a photographer from South Florida, for her workshop day! Robby and Cathy were the perfect “couples” subjects and were perfectly patient while I coached on natural light conditions, and client interaction. Since I had never met them before, it was the perfect opportunity for me to show Stacy how I connect with my clients to capture those sweet moments during a shoot.

It turns out, I should’ve met Robby and Cathy forever ago! We have about 2 degrees of separation all over the place (their roommate is one of my favorite models, Hope, and I actually worked with Robby’s dad at Engle – “back in the day”!) It was so great to finally meet them and I’m so glad that we had such a good shoot with Stacy!

Justin and Karen | Disney’s Boardwalk Resort

Any day I can spend “at work” down at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort makes me remember how much I adore my job. I used to spend all of my summer’s down at Disney with my family. For a kid coming from the cold, bleak NE corner of Ohio – it was a big deal! Disney still holds my fondest childhood memories of sun, sand, fun and vacation. Now, living in Central Florida, sometimes it’s so easy to take for granted the “Happiest place on earth”. But there it is, a mere few miles from my house. So to shoot down there is still a little surreal – but a welcome change from the parks and trees and chickens here in Oviedo

Karen emailed me awhile ago to let me know that she’d be spending a week down at Disney with her boyfriend, Justin, and their family. Setting up a shoot over at the Boardwalk seemed like an easy decision. Like me, Karen spent a lot of time at Disney and it’s a place that she knew she wanted to shoot.

It was so great meeting this cute Connecticut couple and I’m so glad they let me relive a little of my childhood memories running around The Boardwalk

Jessica and Adam | Winter Park

Jessica and Adam helped me out with a workshop that I did back in December! We strolled around Winter Park and played with some different lighting conditions, and working on shooting at a crisp 1.4. Even though I’m running out for a meeting, I wanted to get Jessica and Adam’s super cute session up on the blog for them before I left! Thanks so much for helping out, and I hope to see you guys looking super adorable again soon!
