I have 2 gorgeous weddings to blog, and one amazing Day After session to share :) I’m so anxious to tell their stories, that I wanted to make sure I shared a couple of quick teasers while we dig through the 8,000+ images from the past couples weeks!

First, Christine and Micah’s gorgeous backyard wedding in Orlando, FL on May 15, 2010

And just really quick… because I’m super excited, but this morning I found out that I’m a finalist to shoot the cover of one of my absolute favorite wedding magazines, Southern Weddings! They had over 200 editorial pitches for the cover, and I was one of 20 photographers selected to battle it out for the win! It’s a huge honor, and I’m in some amazing company. Every photographer they chose has a unique style and they are all super talented – so I couldn’t be more estatic to have been selected! I’ll keep everyone posted as I find out more details, but for now – take a look at their blog and check out some of the other nominees!

Brady is here!
05.20.2010Children

Remember Brianna and Jimmy from their maternity session just last month? Well I’m happy to announce that Baby Forster came in to their world on May 11, 2010! They finally chose a name – Brady – and decked out his room with all things baseball and Red Sox! I wouldn’t expect any less from these 2 happy parents!

I ran out to visit them on Tuesday and congratulate them on being first-time parents. I couldn’t wait to meet Brady, and he definitely didn’t disappoint! At only 7 days old, he was full of personality (and hiccups) and stayed awake for his entire newborn session! I’m posting just a few of my favorites, but be sure to check out their sweet little slideshow with more pictures from his adorable room and of his adorable little self!

Congratulations to Brianna and Jimmy! I can’t wait to watch you both grow as parents and I’m so happy to share your new family with everyone!

Marisol and Scott Van Schoyck
05.19.2010Weddings

Melbourne Beach, FL  |  April 10, 2010

This post has been a long time coming! I’ve been really excited to share the gorgeous wedding of Marisol and Scott Van Schoyck! They were married back in April in a beautiful Catholic ceremony and shared their reception with friends and family at the Hilton Melbourne Beach. Scott and Marisol have such a great story of how they first met – and Scott really pulled out one of my favorite proposals! Scott, who’s originally from Ohio (and yes, during family formals I totally called out “O-H!” – to which his entire family, on the alter, responded “I-O!”) was serving in Afghanistan as a lawyer with the Air Force. Marisol is an art teacher at an elementary school and just one of the sweetest, and kind-hearted, people that I know! They met on EHarmony and have been inseparable ever since!

When Scott chose Paris as their next vacation spot, Marisol had no idea she would return to the states with a husband-to-be! Scott chose a sunset picnic in the Tulieries, and as they shared wine and dessert, Scott asked Marisol to be his wife.

It seemed only fitting that their wedding be inspired by the romance, colors and details of France – complete with a Caricature artist at the reception!

Ceremony – Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community, Melbourne Florida
Reception – Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront, Melbourne Florida
Coordination – Joyce Otero
DJ – Carlos Sosa

Here’s one of my favorite shots and their slideshow. Click the “Read More” to view my favorite photos from the day!

Best Week Ever
05.14.2010Life Press

So why is this the “Best Week Ever”?

Well, first of all – our Orlando Style editorial hit newsstands and I got to celebrate at dinner Tuesday night with some of my favorite people! I couldn’t have gotten through that shoot without the creativity and energy of April Dorsey, Lee Forrest, Molly Brown and Melanie Pace, and it was so much fun to just hang out, eat and relax! Seeing your efforts pay off in a beautiful print editorial is one of the most rewarding experiences, and I’m so happy to have shared that with them.

Images for a Cure 2010 is rocking hard, and I have an amazing group of dedicated photographers in Central Florida busting their behinds to make this the best it possibly can be! We’re working on our new branding and starting to get things lined up for an official June 1st Registration drive!

I was also asked to be a guest photographer at a Jacksonville shoot club run by makeup artist, Faythe Mesic, on June 1st. I’m really looking forward to meeting up with all the talented photographers in North Florida. They get together and shoot some fun fashion work every month – a nice break from my crazy wedding season. I’ll be speaking a little on Images for a Cure, and then just getting to help everyone out individually with their shoot! I can’t wait to see everyone there! (I believe it’s open to everyone – just contact Faythe on her website, or Facebook Page to get the details).

Moving right along, I finally started working on my office remodel project! I spend nearly 14 hours a day in my office (often more, rarely less) and have been dying to repaint, re-decorate and re-organize. We just built the house in July, but it’s already seen it’s 3 re-design, poor thing. But I’m fairly set on it this time (let’s hope!). There’s a LOT more to do, but I got most of the paint done and hung my photo-montage on the back wall! We still have to finish the curtains, paint the wall behind my desk (need help moving my desk first!), hang the crown molding and shelves, and then do the closet. The closet will probably take the longest…. but I can’t wait until that’s finished!

And to top off and already stellar week – I was featured on 2 blogs! Yesterday, Weddings Unveiled posted our “Greenhouse Effect” editorial on their blog, Completely Unveiled; and today, my studio interview with Collages.net went up! So if you ever wanted to know how I got my start in photography, what my biggest fear is, who I’d love to meet and what photographer I most admire – go check it out!

Rounding out my weekend, I get to shoot Christine and Micah’s amazing outdoor wedding tomorrow. I can’t wait for this one – it sounds heavenly :) Outdoors, backyard and on a lake. Perfection :) Hope everyone’s getting ready for an amazing weekend!

Amanda and Keith’s Gainesville Engagement
05.05.2010Engagement

I love going to new places! Not that Gainesville is necessarily new – but I’ve never been there (I know, I know) so I was really stoked to schedule Amanda and Keith’s engagement session there!

Until… I found out that I was going up the weekend of UF graduation! Ha, only *I* would schedule an engagement session at UF during spring graduation (in my defense, we had to shoot on Sunday because Keith was heading back to Oklahoma early Monday morning). To boot, I would wager it was the hottest weekend in a looooong time! According to my trusty car thermometer, temps were reading anywhere from 99-100 degrees and we. were. cooking. We originally planned to shoot at the stadium, but graduation and crowds made that impossible. Luckily, we found some shade in the adorable Lake Alice park right on campus.

But what I absolutely loved about my time in Gainesville, was getting to meet Amanda and Keith! Amanda just graduated from UF this weekend, and Keith was in town to cheer her on! He actually came down from Oklahoma City, where he’s serving in the United States Air Force.

Wait! I smell a second location coming on!

So when Amanda told me about his career, I knew I HAD to find an airfield to shoot the second part of their engagement session! I was so excited when I talked to the great folks over at the University Air Center at Gainesville Regional Airport, and they graciously offered their amazing facilities for our session!

I had such a great time shooting their session and running around the airplane hangar – I couldn’t wait to get these up! Insane heat aside, I’m sooo looking forward to their Gainesville wedding in June!
